Dog Friendly Co. built a loyal customer base of over 800,000 dog owners across the US, UK, and Australia. When their supply chain started breaking under the weight of that growth, we came in to fix it.

The company

Dog Friendly Co is a fast-scaling DTC pet accessories brand: harnesses, collars, leashes, beds and apparel, sold to more than 800,000 dog owners across the US, UK and Australia. Strong brand, loyal customers, and US volume growing faster than anything behind it.

Challenge

Pet accessories at this scale is brutal operational maths. Sixteen colourways across core SKUs multiply into hundreds of size and colour combinations. Manufacturing sat across seven Chinese suppliers with no shared standards. Three markets held inventory, and the US 3PL was failing at exactly the moment US volume exploded. The brand had done everything right in front of the customer. The infrastructure behind the storefront was carrying twice the load it was built for.

What we did

Audited the full operation, factory floor to customer door, and identified over $1,000,000 in risk and recoverable value. Renegotiated sea and air freight against live market rates. Audited fulfilment invoices line by line and recovered the erroneous charges. Formalised supplier standards and agreed a raw materials buffer that eliminated a recurring stock risk. Selected a new US 3PL and managed the transition. Built the demand planning function: forecasts, reorder triggers, a buying calendar.

What changed

More than $150,000 in confirmed savings banked in the first three months. Confirmed means invoiced, credited or contracted, not modelled. Freight now books against live market rates instead of rolled-over contracts. And a new product category launching on planned, sea-freighted stock instead of panic and air freight..
